Apple AirPort Utility 5.6.1 on macOS Sierra - Update

I'm testing the latest Apple OS, macOS Sierra. I did a clean install of the new operating system onto an external USB3 SSD, just to see if all the programs and peripherals I use are compatible.

I also tried the old AirPort Utility 5.6.1 combined with AirPort Utility 5.6.1 Launcher, by Corey J. Mahler, and for me, it works just fine as you can see on the picture below

Just updated to Sierra.

Airpot Utility 5.6.1 from Mr. Mahler - now maintained on http://zcs.zyniker.org/ - does not work for me.

Window popping up with error message: "sh: line 2: cd: /private/var/folders/sh/q43vzynn52g_kz6ylbnxp6c40000gn/T/AppTranslocation/91D444A0-2943-4FA3-834F-84C522B586CD/d/AirPort Utility 5.6.1.app/Contents/MacOS: No such file or directory sh: line 3: ./AirPort Utility: No such file or directory".

I can make it work on Sierra as following:

1. execute "defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles YES" on terminal;
2. Ralaunch Finder (Alt-Right click on Finder on the dock and select "Relaunch");
3. Finder menu->Go->Go to folder->copy and paste the first path form the error message;
4. RIght click on "AirPort Utility 5.6.1 Launcher.app" and select "Show Package Contents";
5. Double click on "applet" in Contents/MacOS

You sound as an expert, how can I make it work by avoiding the error message?

Hi Steve Job.

First, revert back the command to show all files in Finder

defaults delete com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles

You don't really need to display files and folders that are purposely hidden.

Have you put both "AirPort Utility 5.6.1" and "AirPort Utility 5.6.1 Launcher" inside the same folder?

Please read my original post - Apple AirPort Utility 5.6.1 on El Capitan - for details

Easier way is to download a old version of airport utility for windows and configure it to your network.When configured airport express will be visible in iTunes on sierra :O)

I have the same problem as Steve Job (exact same error message). It's easier to solve it by moving the AirPort Utility and launcher out of the DMG and into a separate folder (e.g. Applications/Utilities). You can then follow his steps above 3-5 without having to show all files or restart Finder.
